Hi there! Thanks for stopping by the pumpkin patch page.
I'm Sarah Weaver Sharpe. I started this pumpkin patch back in 2010. I graduated from college and had no "real" job- I was farming full time with my dad on the farm and was looking for a way to educate others about agriculture. I had the bright idea to start a pumpkin patch, and here we are many years later! I love having people on the farm where they can experience a TRUE farm- the corn and soybeans that you see will go to feed our animals. You might even see the cows in the "parking lot." I'm the seventh generation to farm on our land and I'm so grateful that I'm able to do so.
Go Hokies! I have a Bachelors in Animal and Poultry Sciences and my Masters in Agriculture and Life Sciences, with an emphasis in Plant Science and Pest Management, both from Virginia Tech.
I have an off the farm job as an Agriculture Extension Agent that I love and keeps me quite busy.
My dad and husband help me with the growing part of the pumpkin patch, but I'm the one in charge of answering the phone, taking care of all the social media, answering all the emails, and everything else that has to happen behind the scenes.
You'll find me at the pumpkin patch doing a little bit of everything when I'm not chasing my two little girls around. I love talking about pumpkins, agriculture, and farming. Feel free to stop me to chat!
